Our Cats

Each of our residents has their own story, personality & pace.

Meet our residents

They are here to find their for forever homes - and help you slow down in the meantime.

Maggie

Maggie is a vocal, affectionate girl whose favourite hobby is dramatic window watching. Between chatting away and demanding attention, she likes to stay involved in absolutely everything.

Dorothy & Sophia

2 years old

Dorothy and Sophia are bonded sisters who must be adopted together. They can be shy at first, but once settled they love attention, cosy beds, and chirping away to each other throughout the day.

Marvin

2 years old

Marvin arrived as a very shy boy still learning to trust people. He has grown in confidence, and now loves being in the middle of things, as well as frolicking and romancing with Lily, his favourite tabby. He's still cautious about human touch, but loves to play, have a sniff of your hand and say hello!

*Lily and Marvin are bonded, so they come as a package, to be adopted together

Coco

2 YEARS OLD

Coco had been straying for quite a while. As a long haired cat she had some terrible tats and now has some regrowth! She is super friendly and loves attention. She has an epic rumbling purr. She’s fond of making biscuits and the odd head bump.

Mim

Less than 1 year old

Mim is a super-affectionate and sweet girl. She was handed in to the vets as a stray with a very bad case of flea allergy, so she lost some fur and had to be treated to let her skin recover. Curious and playful, at around 8 months old (July 2026), her kitten days are not quite behind her yet.

Trudy

Less than 1 year old

Little Trudy was rescued as a very young kitten from a growing rural colony whose feeder couldn’t look after them any longer. She *may* be related to one of our original crew, the gorgeous ginger Teddy. She’s very small and quite timid at 7 months (July 2026), but once she has gained your trust she enjoys cuddles and will purr and purr.

Lily

2 years old

Lily is a timid little girl with very strong opinions about personal space. She likes to do things at her own pace, but with patience and kindness she slowly begins to soften.

*Bonded with Marvin. Lily & Marvin will be looking for a home together.*

Toris

7 years old

Look at those stunning green eyes! Toris is a lovely friendly boy. He lived a settled indoor life, but sadly circumstances changed so he’s looking for new people to call home.

Steve

5 years old

Steve was straying for some time in the city before he was rescued. He was handed in to the vets with a limp, that is all healed up now. He’s a shy, but friendly boy.

Olivia

Less than a year old

Olivia is our super affectionate cow print girl, who climbs on every lap in sight and laps up your attention. Still very young at 7 months old (August 2026) she is eagerly waiting for her forever home.

Mikey

5 years old

Mikey is a quiet kitty that is still settling into Kumiko life. He was found in a poor condition by BKR but has healed wonderfully and is trusting humans more and more everyday. He loves to watch everyone in the lounge from his safe place high up.

Fur-ever home found

We honestly didn't expect the happy endings to come this quickly. Every adoption is a reminder of why Kumiko exists, and we can't wait to share each story with you.

The adoption process

One of the most special parts of Kumiko is seeing our rescue cats find their forever homes. If you meet a cat during your visit and feel a connection, we’d love to help you explore adoption.

  • 1. Meet the cats

During your visits, you’ll have the chance to spend time in the company of our rescue cats. Sometimes a connection happens immediately — and sometimes it grows quietly over time.

  • 2. Submit an enquiry

If you feel you’ve met the cat for you, simply complete our enquiry form.

  • 3. The Match Making

Carol from Belfast Kitten Rescue will get in touch for a chat.

  • 4. The happy ending

If everything aligns, the adoption will be arranged directly through Belfast Kitten Rescue, who will guide you through the final steps.

Belfast Kitten Rescue

Belfast Kitten Rescue is a self-funded local rescue run from their own home, caring for abandoned and unwanted cats from across Northern Ireland. Their work supports every stage of a cat’s journey — from rescue and rehabilitation to everyday care and rehoming.
